The Centre for Arts and Technology is an accredited, post-secondary institution providing specialized technical training.  Our Fredericton Campus is home to some of industry’s best instructors. We also have centres in Halifax and Kelowna.

We are initiating our well-proven Veterinary Hospital Assistant program and are looking for two dedicated part-time instructors with a passion for providing an outstanding educational experience to students.

Objective/Purpose of the Positions:

This program introduces students to the fundamentals of a Veterinary Hospital Assistant in an animal hospital or clinic setting. 

The two successful candidates will actively participate and contribute to all aspects of the learner-centered environment including demonstration of competences in curriculum development and delivery, student mentorship, and professional guidance. Our priority is to equip our students with the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to succeed and excel in their chosen field.

The Positions:

Animal Health Instructor

Key Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Instruct 9 hrs/wk for 36 weeks over a 9 month period lesson preparation and delivery following a well developed curriculum
  • Create a rewarding educational and adult learning environment in the classroom

Education and Experience Preferred

  • Five years (5) experience as an Animal Health Technician and currently employed in a local animal health clinic
  • Professional experience or knowledge in the area of animal dentistry, vet radiology, animal anatomy and physiology, parasitology, clinical and surgical preparation procedures
  • Teaching experience would be an asset but not necessary
  • Additional experience in the areas of livestock and exotics would be an asset

Front Office Assistant Instructor

Key Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Instruct 9 hrs/wk for 12 weeks over a 3 month period lesson preparation and delivery following a well developed curriculum
  • Create a rewarding educational and adult learning environment in the classroom

Education and Experience Preferred

  • Three (3) years experience as a Veterinary Office Assistant and currently employed in a local animal health clinic
  • Professional experience or knowledge in the area of pharmacology, front office procedures and client communications,  animal nutrition, immunology and vaccinations
  • Teaching experience would be an asset but not necessary
