Cardiology Technologist Program – Improve the Healthcare Community
Technology is already critically important in the healthcare field, and its value will continue to increase in the future. You can be at the forefront of this rapidly evolving area of healthcare delivery by becoming a Cardiology Technologist.
The Centre for Arts and Technology in Fredericton is proud to host the Stenberg College Cardiology Technologist program. While taking this program, you will spend a significant amount of time performing hands-on learning and work in clinical settings under professional supervision. You will be provided with the skills necessary for employment as a Cardiology Technologist in Canada and be prepared to write the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologist (CSCT) National Exam. Required clinical placement will help you gain the knowledge, skills and abilities needed within the workplace. This program is intense and condensed to save you time and allow you to enter the workforce and start earning wages quickly.
Heart Risk Is High – Be Part of the Solution
The Maritime’s population has more heart risk factors than the national average, and with constant improvements in treatment, people are living better with their disease; therefore, having to use cardiac diagnostic services on a more frequent basis. By becoming a Cardiology Technologist, you will be able to perform Exercise Stress Testing, Scan Holter Monitoring and Pacemaker follow-up, among other duties that Non-Registered ECG Technicians (NRET) are unable to perform.
Registered Cardiology Technologists (RCT) are working in diagnostic departments across New Brunswick and although there are also many NRETs to assist, there is a growing demand for RCTs due to their broad knowledge and expertise. New Brunswick is looking to employ only RCTs and; therefore, will not offer any permanent positions to NRETs unless they can acquire certification within a required time frame.

The Cardiology Technologist program has been approved by the CSCT and the Private Occupational Training Association (POTA). Funding is available for the program through various resources.
