Objective/Purpose of the Position:
The purpose of this position is to assist the AE Department Head and the Director of Education in ensuring that the school delivers consistent quality education in the Audio Engineering program. The objective is to assist in the continual improvement of overall quality of instruction, keep the program current and relevant to industry, and ensure the best possible career outcomes for grads.
Everyone is involved in “marketing” the school. This position is expected to take on a leadership role and set an example for other staff and instructors.
Skill Requirements – Specific & General:
Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of Audio Engineering principles
- Working knowledge of adult education principles
- Excellent knowledge of the labour market trends in the industry

- Ability to work to meet specific timelines
- Demonstrated instructional abilities
- Demonstrated coaching/mentoring abilities
- Demonstrated curriculum development skills
- Administrative skills, including planning and organizing skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of Digital Audio Applications
- Working knowledge of Studio Operations (Analog, Digital)
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including mediation, and dealing with conflict
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Well developed networking skills
- Attention to detail
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has certification/degree in Audio Engineering plus four years industry experience. This position will also require regular upgrades to ensure that skills remain current and are expanded into other areas as necessary.
