Centre for Arts and Technology

Kelowna's Gospel Mission's 30k Club and the Centre for Arts and Technology Okanagan are offering Okanagan students and residents the opportunity to win a $12,000, $8,000, or $4,000 scholarship from the reputable school located in Kelowna, BC.

The contest goal will be to create the 'Next Generation' 30k Club television commercial, using local musician Ryan Donn's song 'Love will lead you home' as a backdrop. The current 30 second television advertisements, which air on CHBC news, feature local notables like Mayor Sharon Shepherd, MLA Ron Cannan, and Superintendant Bill McKinnon.

"This is a great opportunity for us to see what the Okanagan has to offer in terms of up and coming talent, and provides us a chance to see how creative people can get when it comes to addressing the issue of homelessness," says Stass. "We're hoping that by opening the 30k Club's advertising direction to the public, we may very well find new and innovative ways to communicate with our audience: The people who live here and see the problems every day."
Applications are available online at www.30kclub.com, along with contest rules and more information about the competition. Initial applications forms are due by Fabruary 27th, and videos must be completed and submitted by May 15th, 2009. The judges for the contest include original 30k Club videographer and local talent Paul Cotton, CHBC's very own Sandi Dawson, musician Ryan Donn, and representatives from the Gospel Mission and CATO.
