Our Kelowna Fashion Design & Merchandising students are hard at work right now prepping for the annual Wearable Art Gala (WAG), a fundraiser for the Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art. Creative artists – including fashion designers, hair and makeup artists, and visual designers – come together each year to showcase the talent in the Okanagan Valley. With a healthy dose of competition – including the UBCO Creative Studies Department – CAT Fashion students will be upping the ante on March 31 at the Laurel Packinghouse, with their first appearance at the annual event.
Each piece of art is showcased in a performance on stage, followed by an after party. Check out some of the photos of the students during preparation, below. The wearable pieces of art are starting to take shape and we are thinking that the student entries will be making quite the scene at the event this year!!
Stay tuned for more coverage on the event and check out recent article on the “WAG” in Kelowna Capital News!
