The Fashion Design & Merchandising and Events and Promotions Management students from our Kelowna campus recently partnered with the Kelowna Community Theatre to host a “Fashionable Autumn” evening, on Saturday September 24, 2011.
The event showcased fashions from four local boutiques: Frakas, Influence, Raw 69 Athletics and Asphalt Shoes, followed by creations from the 2011 Graduating Class of the Fashion Design and Merchandising (FDM) program.
The after party was held at the Kelowna Community Theatre, where fashion student portfolios were on display for the audience. A silent auction also took place, where looks from the boutiques promoted on the runway were auctioned off, with all proceeds going towards creating bursaries for CAT students.
The event went so well that Mayor Sharon Shepherd awarded it with a Community Spirit Award, to recognize the outstanding job done by CAT students with the event.
Thank you to everyone who was involved in producing the event, and to all who attended as well. The evening was a smashing success!
Check out all the amazing fashions designed by our talented Fashion Design & Merchandising graduating class of 2011!
