The Animation Department at our Kelowna college campus took to Orchard Park Shopping Centre on January 27th to showcase work done by some of the school's very best instructors and students. 

The Animation booth had two computer stations set up for those interested to work with. One station was set up for 2D Animation and the other for 3D Animation. Mall goers also had the opportunity to view an instructor use a light board for animation.

Riva Zietsoff, a current animation student at the Kelowna campus, sat down with us to tell us about her experience as an animation student and an exciting co-op opportunity she’s started this month. Riva was recently offered an eight month co-op position as an Illustrator/Animator for a multi-billion dollar, internationally recognized animation studio!

September 14, 2012 marks the 10th Annual Student Film Festival – featuring animation and film – at our Kelowna campus! Mark your calendars for this red carpet event:

Students are ready to show their hard work from this year through both Animation and Digital Filmmaking programs in this exciting demonstration of talent.

Our graduating Animation students from Kelowna went to Electronic Arts, Rhythm & Hues, and Sony Pictures Imageworks Studios for the 8th annual Vancouver Studios Tour June 25-26th.

Future animation extraordinaire Chelsea Kuhn from Quesnel, BC, has been announced as the winner of the $10,000 Centre for Arts and Technology President’s Scholarship, to pursue her animation training program in Kelowna. Kuhn’s hard work on her application – securing reference letters, creating two animation shorts (only one was required), and interviewing a professional animator – showed her passion and determination for animation as a career, and it ultimately paid off.
